I would like to give gifts that don't have a recall afterward. Especially for small kids that have already chewed on it or sipped liquid out of it ( tea sets) that are made in China. Please watch where all the neat candy treats are made from. Lots of China on that stuff!! I went to buy candy canes with different flavors and they said "made in China". How rediculous is that?

I agree somewhat. I think looking for the American made toys is probably safer. But the catch is the the components that make up the toys often (almost always) are made in china or another country. The toy companies (and all the other companies) do this so they can make the toy as cheap as possible while still doing enough here in the USA in order to say it was made in the USA. So your still not sure if the toys are safe then. My suggestion is to buy toys from someplace that has a guarantee on them. The Magic Cabin Catalog has a guarantee that the toys are safe from lead paint and other things. They also have an online catalog at www.magiccabin.com Don't be daunted by the high prices of the items because if you look carefully there is a lot of things that are very affordable. Like ten, fifteen, or twenty dollars. Also you never know if the toy is really safe because even American companies can make mistakes or even purposely ignore or use a dangerous item. Everyone be careful and do yo

I agree with kountrykaren---just give us a choice of American made toys. We will be able to decide which toys are safe and appropriate for our children.

How about putting some toys on the shelves that are made in America
