Hang Heavy Items
When you want to hang something heavy on the wall, it may be tempting to just put some screws into the wall and go for it. You should not do this though, because drywall is weak, and the screws can easily rip out. Use a stud-finder to find studs on the wall, and screw directly into the studs.

Wall anchors are a good alternative if you can't find studs. Pre-drill a hole into the wall, and insert the wall anchor. Lightly tap it with a hammer until the anchor sits flush with the wall.
