Clean and Maintain the Grill

Any time is a great time for grilling. To extend the life of your barbeque and ensure its best performance, you'll want to give it a good spring cleaning. First, remove the burners.

Soak the grill and any removable parts in dishwashing liquid and hot water. Scrub away build-up with grill brush, sponge, or rag.

Tape over any gas openings and then clean the inside of the barbeque with hot, soapy water and a sponge or brush.

Clean blocked venturi tubes by removing the burners and tubes from the grill. Push a venturi brush into each tube until it hits the end. Use a hose with a nozzle to flush water through the venturi tubes to determine if any burner ports are blocked. If they are blocked, gently clean them by inserting a pipe cleaner or tooth pick into them.

Clean the outside of the burners and tubes with a wire brush. If they are really stuck, let them soak for a while in hot, soapy water.

Once the interior of the grill is clean, clean the outside with hot, soapy water and a sponge.

Hose off the barbeque and allow it to dry completely. Reassemble your grill.

When done, rub vegetable oil on the grill. You are ready to enjoy your newly cleaned grill.
