Our first CEO prize winner runs a ship shape home and won the battle of the bulge by losing over 100 pounds.

Kristine Bailey is nothing if not a go-getter. Her "just do it" attitude extends not only to tackling the tough tasks at home (when I called, she had just finished touching up the paint on her window frames), often while her husband is deployed overseas, but also to her own personal improvement. Kristine recently lost the more than 100 pounds she gained post-childbirth. She lets us in on how she does it.
First off, congratulations on being our first CEO honoree! Tell us why you picked your prize, a year's worth of babysitting services?
With 4 young children and a tight budget, babysitting is something we can't afford too often. 99% of our date nights are in our own home, with the kids in their beds.
Clearly you deserve to be honored for your facilities management skills. Most of us look at a task like painting the window frames as a project for "another day." How do you make the time?
I have a checklist in my head of things that need to get done and I try not to think about it, I just do it. The more I ponder, the less likely I am to do it. I just have certain times of day – like my 2-year-old's naptime -- when I know I can do projects and certain times of day that I spend with the kids.
Is there anything that falls by the wayside?
Scrapbooking is the one area I'm behind on. I just end up putting pictures in photo albums. I'm better at the big tasks, mowing the lawn, gardening, I love yard work. It's so hard for me to be cooped up in the winter. I start looking for things to do inside.
I wish scrapbooking were the only thing I was behind on. What are your favorite chores (if that's not an oxymoron)?
Outdoors, definitely gardening. Indoors, my favorite is having a clean kitchen. That’s a huge thing to me.
Do you cook every day?
I bake a lot in the winters and cook every lunch and dinner. I just gave up cooking breakfast because my husband, for some reason, just decided that he hates eggs.
